Obama Tourism Wave Hits Hawai’i
Due to skyrocketing interest in Hawai’i since Barack Obama won the American presidential election and with this week's Inauguration, the Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau has launched a special Barack Obama micro-site at gohawaii.com/obama.
It highlights some of the significant places tied to Obama’s earlier days in
Hawai’i and where he holidayed in both August and December 2008.
Today, Obama credits his upbringing in the Islands as a major influence on his character and values, saying, “What’s best in me, and what’s best in my message, is consistent with the tradition of Hawai'i.”
